The question is, why is Kit Siang and Mahathir interfering in Umno? Kit Siang wants Umno to sack Najib while Mahathir wants Zahid to give way to Ku Li. Why is it so important that Kit Siang and Mahathir have a say in who become the new Umno leaders? Is there something going on that they are not telling us about? And it appears that this ‘something’ involves Ku Li becoming the new Umno President.

Anwar: Dr Mahathir used me to get support but it’s okay
(FMT) – Anwar Ibrahim admitted that Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad used him to win over the support of his colleagues, who were then the opposition, prior to the recent general election.
But the PKR de-facto leader said he had no issues with it as Mahathir was committed to Pakatan Harapan’s agenda.
“So, it was okay for me to be used as long as we move as a mature democracy, we rid the country of corruption and all the excesses that has taken place in the past,” he told the BBC’s Lyse Doucet in a recent interview.
Doucet had asked the former deputy prime minister if he was worried that Mahathir – his one-time mentor turned nemesis and now ally – was using him to get what he wants.
Anwar said in politics people “use one another”.

Anwar said he and Mahathir are using each other
It is interesting that Anwar Ibrahim said “as long as we rid the country of corruption and all the excesses that has taken place in the past”. When Anwar said this, he did not just mean ‘corruption and excesses’ during the time of Najib Tun Razak. He meant ‘corruption and excesses’ during the of Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad and Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi (Pak Lah) as well.
Remember it was Mahathir who revealed the scandals involving Pak Lah — such as ‘Oil for Food’, ‘Centrifuges for Libya’, ‘Tingkat Empat’, ‘Singapore Agent’, ‘House in Perth’, ‘Monsoon Cup’, ‘Crystal Mosque’, ‘Private Jet’, ‘ECM Libra’, ‘Abuse of Wang Ehsan’, ‘Patrick Lim a.k.a. Patrick Badawi’, ‘Second Penang Bridge’, ‘Cancellation of Crooked Bridge’, and many more.
And Mahathir said that was the reason why Pak Lah has to be kicked out — because of all these scandals.
Mahathir said Pak Lah is corrupt to the core
Anwar, on the other hand, revealed many of Mahathir’s scandals. Anwar told the nation that Mahathir wanted Petronas to use RM2 billion (worth RM3.3 billion today) to bail out his son’s company but Anwar agreed to only RM1 billion and this made Mahathir angry. And in 2007 Mahathir admitted that the story was true.
There were so many other scandals such as Dayabumi, Perwaja, the many IPPs, the toll highways, etc., that were all scandalous and rife with corruption. And all, said Anwar, were crimes committed by Mahathir.
So, when Anwar talks about “corruption and all the excesses that has taken place in the past” he is not talking about Najib, or just Najib, but about Mahathir and Pak Lah as well. Anwar is very clever at this type of thing. He throws a stone and makes it look like it is aimed at one target whereas he is actually hitting two or three targets at the same time. This is vintage Anwar.

Anyway, talking about Mahathir using Anwar and Anwar using Mahathir, vice versa, Mahathir is doing the same with Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah (Ku Li). He is getting Ku Li to take on Ahmad Zahid Hamidi for the presidency of Umno.
According to Mahathir, Zahid is Najib’s and Anwar’s proxy. Hence he wants Zahid defeated and he has asked Ku Li to contest against Zahid. Mahathir cannot afford for Zahid to win in case Anwar brings the PKR MPs into Umno.
That was the reason Mahathir summoned Zahid for a meeting. Mahathir wanted Zahid to contest for number two and give way to Ku Li to contest the number one post. But Zahid flatly said no. Mahathir then told the world that Zahid asked to see him to ask advice regarding Umno whereas it was the other way around. That, too, is vintage Mahathir.
