Najib to be charged again in a game of distraction

The prosecution needs to prove that a crime has been committed and that Najib committed that crime. If they can prove that then Najib goes to jail. Let us see tomorrow what happens. Tomorrow will be the case management for the first three CBT charges against Najib. So, we will most likely know tomorrow whether they are just shooting blanks or they do actually have bullets.

THE CORRIDORS OF POWER

Raja Petra Kamarudin

Mahathir went to Japan with his begging bowl

The issue is very simple, really.

Japan is not prepared to give Malaysia the soft loan that Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad went with his begging bowl (to quote Lim Kit Siang) to Japan to try to get. And even if they are prepared to give Malaysia that soft loan, Malaysia will have to use that soft loan to ‘buy Japan’. That is the purpose of the soft loan: to ‘buy Japan’. So that means China would be out of the equation.

China is upset with Lim Guan Eng for calling them a crook. So, China does not welcome Guan Eng to their country. And that was why Tun Daim Zainuddin had to go to China instead of Guan Eng. China has also decided to boycott Malaysian palm oil, a move that is going to affect 600,000 Malays.

China is upset with Guan Eng for calling them a crook

Singapore is also upset with Mahathir and his government for calling them a crook. And all Singapore has to do is to sit tight and do nothing regarding the water agreement, the HSR project, and so on, and let Malaysia shadow box.

The ten promises in 100 days is now confirmed as unachievable. Even the one promise so far that they kept, the removal of the GST, has backfired because the cost of living has not come down as expected. And in another three weeks when the SST is implemented all hell is going to break loose.

Anwar Ibrahim needs for someone to resign his or her parliament seat to make way for a by-election so that he can become a Member of Parliament. Anwar’s wife and daughter will not resign their seats and William Leong has offered to resign his Selayang seat if Anwar wants that seat.

People are asking if Anwar wants a seat then why not ask one of his family members to resign and make way for him? Why must someone else resign instead just so that his entire family can be in the government?

Mahathir wants Malaysia’s third national car or Perotiga to be launched the latest by 2020. This means Malaysia’s national car(s) will continue to enjoy protection at the expense of Malaysian car buyers who need to pay a higher price to own a car. Malaysia is also negotiating with Zhejiang Geely Holding Group Co. Ltd (Geely) to buy back their 49.9% interest in Proton (or at least 19.9% and reduce Geely to just 30%).

Proton, which used to have 74% market share at its height, is now struggling to maintain 13% market share, while Perodua is outselling Proton at 40% market share. Even Honda outsells Proton at 21% market share. The only way Proton can get back its 74% market share would be to make other cars more expensive.

Anwar wants Mahathir to stick to his promise to stay as Prime Minister for only two years while the Council of Eminent Persons (CEP) must also be disbanded on Saturday, 18th August 2018 as promised. Mahathir feels he cannot hand power to Anwar on 10th May 2020 or disband the CEP on 18th August 2018 because there are still many things he needs to do.

The PTPTN and UEC issues are more complex than originally anticipated and may not be resolved by 18th August 2018 after all. In fact, the Minister of Education said they do not need to resolve these issues in 100 days since they have five years to do it. White shoes, however, will be phased out in two years as planned.

Malaysia needs to reduce its mostly-Malay 1.4 million civil service to just one million so 400,000 workers need to be retrenched

With all the above plus more, Pakatan Harapan needs to entertain Malaysians with a sideshow to distract them from the real issues facing the country. And that is why tomorrow they are going to charge Naib Tun Razak again. Previously, they charged Najib under three charges for criminal breach of trust. Tomorrow, they are also going to charge Najib under three charges for money laundering.

Actually, the earlier three charges for criminal breach of trust and the new three charges for money laundering are for the same case. These latest three charges are not for new cases. But they want it to appear like these are three new cases.

They will most likely charge Najib later under another three charges for not declaring his income. Then for tax evasion. Then for false declaration. Then for lying. Then for vote-buying. Then for election-rigging. Then for bribery.

Mahathir and Pakatan cannot afford for Najib to not be jailed after what they said about him or else they will look stupid

So, Najib will face three charges each for criminal breach of trust, money laundering, failure to declare his income, tax evasion, false declaration, lying, vote-buying, election-rigging, bribery, etc.

The issue is still the same, of course. RM42 million of 1MDB’s money was allegedly paid to SRC International. SRC International then allegedly transferred the RM42 million to Najib’s personal bank account. Then the money was allegedly transferred to another bank account, which has since been closed. And from that now closed account, the money was allegedly transferred to the bank accounts of three political parties.

Now, the prosecution needs to prove that a crime has been committed and that Najib committed that crime. If they can prove that then Najib goes to jail. Let us see tomorrow what happens. Tomorrow will be the case management for the first three CBT charges against Najib. So, we will most likely know tomorrow whether they are just shooting blanks or they do actually have bullets.
