A closer look at Talam Corp Bhd

The Selangor government’s decision to approve an additional RM391 million budget allocation to Mentri Besar Inc (MBI) to take over the debts owed by Talam Corp Bhd to three state agencies has stirred controversy.

Basically, under the move, MBI will use the money to settle the amount that Talam owes Kumpulan Darul Ehsan Bhd, Permodalan Negeri Selangor Bhd and Yayasan Pendidikan Selangor. The state government is then supposed to recover the amount due from Talam.

While critics are viewing it as a bailout, Mentri Besar Khalid Ibrahim says the rationale is to ensure that Talam gives a higher priority to its debt (to the state), incurred over the last decade, ahead of its other creditors. On 10 Nov, Khalid gave Talam three months to settle the debt, incurred in connection with several property development projects.

Whatever the reason, let’s take a closer look at Talam.

this all s___ left behind by the previous bn state government which the pakatan administration has to clean up. the pakatan government should make available the past government papers to show how these balances were built up in the previuos years.
talam must be made to pay up what it owns even if the state has to proceed with liquidation proceedings.

I have a strong feeling that Anwar's crony companies is involved in the Talam Group. When he was the Deputy PM and Finance Minister, his office were filled with cronies. To be fair to the rakyat, PKR has to reveal the truth behind.

banks get first priority when company goes bust.due to mortgage. then employees unpaid salaries. lastly, other creditors.
So whatever menteri besar had done, it is still the same thing. talam bosses has got away with the money.
