The government lodged a police report recently about leaked Cabinet documents on the on-going Port Klang Free Zone (PKFZ) scandal.

In a written reply to Klang MP Charles Santiago, the home affairs minister stated that the police report was made by the Finance Ministry on Sept 16, 2009, and that the case was still being investigated by the police.

The case has been classified under section 8 of the Official Secrets Act (OSA) where a person can be charged with divulging official government secrets in a wrong manner.

"The government will not hesitate to take strict action against any party which leaks out official government secrets either through government agencies or other means, based on the legal provisions at hand."

A thorough criminal investigation is under way to determine the source of the leaked document, whether it was a techical glitch, carelessness or a "hidden culprit."

In lodging a police report, the government is conceding the fact frequently stated by Pakatan Rakyat that the leaked documents are indeed official Cabinet papers on the PKFZ issue.

The government has also announced that it has appointed a special task force led by its Chief Secretary to look into the Auditor-General's report on the PKFZ.

The leaked Cabinet documents originally surfaced on the online web portal Malaysia Today some months back.

The contents are said to suggest that the Cabinet had been aware of the financial losses faced by PKFZ for some time, and no follow-up action had been taken to remedy the situation.

It seems like the word 'bocor' is not confined only to government buildings. The only difference would seem to be that this leak is a useful one. Tell the truth and shame the devil.

Is it not this wonderful Barisan Government using the OSA to suppress their abused and mismanagement practices in PKFZ? Truly Malaysia in the most Asian style. Syabas to all the billions spent which maybe our neighbouring Singapore could have done it with 3 or 4 similar PKFZ projects with the same amount expended..

First and foremost, how can cabinet papers on PKFZ leaked out of the cabinet which is comprised of all Ministers in their respective portfolios. Either some ministers or all of them are incompetent, idiots or having an agenda.

Whatever it is, this cabinet has made the country a laughing stock around the world since it is no longer confined within the domain of the cabinet and also has scare off many highly educated, well travelled professionals, academics, managers, executives as well as investors from taking roots in Malaysia. Not forgetting about the hugh brain drain the country is witnessing.

The crux of the joke is the government making a police report about the leaked papers.

This really goes to show the how stupid and incompetent the whole cabinet of ministers is.smilies/cheesy.gifsmilies/cheesy.gifsmilies/cheesy.gif

beENd/umNO, don't distract the rakyats' attention from the core issue, i.e. THE SCANDAL. It is madness to imagine that disclosing a SCANDAL is a serious offence under osa !!!!. Would the disclosure pose any threat or prejudicial to national security ???? OR will it ruin the reputations of those unscrupulous and corrupted culprits involved.??? If it is the latter, then it should be made available for public scrutiny. The rakyat more than deserve to know how their money is spent.

Ahh.. here we go again. This is so very typical of UMNO/BN. I have a few points to highlight:

1. The OSA is always used as a tool to hide corrupt and shameful activities committed by the government. It is so handy, isn't it? If a crime is committed just throw the cloak of OSA around the issue and you are safe.

2. The issue at hand is a fact that every rakyat is entitled to know. What is so secret about a report concerning the PKFZ scandal? Does it involve national security?

3. The purpose of invoking the OSA obvious, and that is to shield those who are guilty in the scandal.

Any sane and sound-minded rakyat can see that UMNO/BN is dodging the issue by threatening to throw anybody behind bars for exposing those guilty of this mother of all scandals in the country.

Here we go again!!
Shooting the messenger rather than going after the culprits in the PKFZ scandal!!
If the UMNOputras have NOT been trying to sweep the scandal under the carpet, there shall be no need to leak the papers to the public.

Hello Bodoh Ministers --- so you guys think covering matters under OSA will protect Msia, more like protecting your own arses bank accounts. The more such matters are not out in the open, the more blatant the corruptions are & this is exactly what is happening to the country and you guys play a major role of in all the ills in the country. Such financial investments are not military in nature and you bunch of bodoh ministers screw up and try not to be accountable. I say BRAVO to the guy/gal who leaked this document out. Who can tahan such abuses accept crooks. Now police wasting time & money to catch a patriotic Msian !!! Where are your bloody upstairs. KPI is good for longkang standards.
