(Bernama) -- Umno leaders especially at the division level are urged to continue to get close to the rakyat as there are indications that Kedah will revert to the Barisan Nasional (BN) in the next general election.
Kedah Umno Liaison chairman Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal said it was most important to champion the cause of the people by going down to the grassroots to listen to their woes and resolve the problems faced by them.
"The sentiments toward change have emerged in Kedah and the leaders must get down to ensure that the BN takes back the state (administration)," he said in his speech at the launching of the 'Juara Rakyat' Programme for the Pendang Parliamentary constituency, at the Kompleks Paya Mat Insun, near here Saturday.
He said signs of a change in the sentiments of the people could be seen clearly because every programme organised by the BN, particularly Umno, such as the Juara Rakyat Programme, received encouraging response.
The Juara Rakyat Programme was launched by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak in Rawang, Selangor, on Jan 9 to show that Umno accepted the signals sent by the rakyat that they should get closer to the people after being rejected in the 12th general election.

Pakatan must also get down and meet the rakyat. The rakyat will vote for the party that will give them what they want. Now it is a battle on the ground between pakatan and UMNO and the best party will prevail.

Heck, what's the use of billions of dollars if you don't make good use of it, more so during this trying times. When it is hard to put food on the table, RM400-00 becomes a lifesaver to trade in your vote. Mamaks are the actual brains behind the ruling party and not the malays. They pull the strings and the puppets swing their pelvis and nod their heads. Sad huh?
