Tan Sri Musa Hassan will be replaced as the Inspector-General of Police when his contract expires in September.

While refusing to disclose details, Home Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein said today that a transition process was already in place, with details to be decided by the government.

“I already know who is going to replace the IGP. I already know who is going to replace the director of the commercial crime division. I already know those who will take over, so there is no need for us to speculate and report news without basis,” said Hishammuddin in Parliament today.

Last Saturday, Musa was forced to deny a report in local Chinese daily China Press that he had resigned as Inspector-General of Police.

Quoting unnamed sources, China Press had reported that Musa submitted his resignation letter to the Home Minister, Datuk Seri Hishammudin Hussein, and Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak.

The 59-year-old Musa’s contract as IGP expires in September.

Musa also appeared to suggest that the newspaper obtained the information about his purported resignation from underworld criminal figures.

The report of his resignation came a day after suspended police Commissoner Datuk Ramli Yusoff was acquitted of three corruption charges by the Sessions Court here.

Ramli’s acquittal had sparked intense speculation surrounding his future because his relationship with Musa is understood to have been soured by events leading up to his prosecution.

A number of uncorroborated reports had also emerged on the Internet in recent years alleging the involvement of the criminal underworld in events leading to Ramli being charged for corruption.

In an interview with The Malaysian Insider which was published today, Ramli, who was the third most senior police officer until his suspension, said he would report for duty soon.

He also lashed out at being treated badly by his colleagues.

Ramli pointed out that Musa had once served directly under him for six years.

Ramli was deputy director of the CID at the time while Musa was head of prosecution.

“At one time, I treated him like my own brother. I never expected this sort of treatment.”

Ramli’s comments will have added to the speculation swirling around Musa.

I have said this before, the cousins are not smart and have low intelligence.
they only talk and to the rural Malays they are smart! But the mjority of Malaysians know this is not true.
Go ask any foreign diplomats in KL, I bet 75% will give "EEE" rating for both these cousins in intelligence, analytical mind; answers givien to reporters difficult questions and ""AAA+" for being racists to the highest level.

hisapmudin,
We too don't like speculations. But here we want to make our point loud and clear.so that it sinks into your thick head.

If you know what is good for the nation and the police., sack that extremely tainted musang berbulu ayam immediately. Every extra single day he stays in office , causes more misery to the general public. . . A person like him does not deserve any sympathy.

Datuk Ramli Yusuff ought to be his successor. . He has good track record. and has contributed significantly to crack criminal underworld syndicates. His rise to become CID chief is presumably through merit, unlike musang whose rise is due to his stint of service as a senior mattress carrier.

If musang's service can be extended and reextended, , why can't the same be done to Datuk Ramli.

Since you confirm that the IGP will be replace by September, seems to me the China Press is telling the truth. Usually the top ranking people will take a six months leave prior to their retirement due dates. Just like the previous MACC boss. Normally within these periods they will fly around the world to check their overseas fat bank accounts and which country to be call a second home.

If this scum is ever given an Ambassadorship , i will make sure that Head of State gets all the relevant copies of all his crimes against humanity. That country's Head will be blasted with emails , copied to all the parliamentarians. Musang is mistaken if he thinks he can take the World for a ride.

If Kriss , wants to live in peace he better bury him for good or the Musang virus will spread to him and his family.

Musa also appeared to suggest that the newspaper obtained the information about his purported resignation from underworld criminal figures.

Er...um..er.., how are we supposed to read this? Does that mean that Musa knows that only the 'underworld criminal figures' were informed about his resignation? How can he inform his 'other bosses' first before reporting to the Home Minister? That's why the Home Minister is blur about it, and has to deny the rumor .... unless the HM is lying again, just like in the cowhead incident.

Then again, I may be reading this all wrong. smilies/wink.gif
