I struggle to see how PR can ever look to run the federal government based on the ‘one bus-one driver-one fuel’ model, given their ideological differences. But if they offer the ‘tag-team’ model, then it might be an interesting proposition to consider.
Suflan Shamsuddin, The Malaysian Insider
As Zaidel Baharuddin’s The Malaysian Insider article ‘Pakatan Rakyat to Pakatan Riot’ explains, there remain unresolved doubts about how PR parties can work together to lead the country.
Surely they cannot be given the reins to rule? Or can they?
I have been a long-time sceptic of PR. But having laboured long and hard over how they might share power, I am now warming up to them.
I am beginning to sense that they might actually be viable as an alternative to BN, provided they are willing to make some fundamental changes in the way they think about power sharing.
If they can discard the conventional wisdom that applies as to how a federal government should normally operate, and build a new model suited to PR, then it might just work.
Imagine three fuels. Leaded, Unleaded and Diesel. These fuels when mixed together cannot power any car. But yet each fuel could be used to run a specific kind of car quite effectively. And this is, to me, the key to solving PR’s power-sharing impasse.
If Malaysians insist on having Malaysia governed centrally as a single unit (like riding in one big bus with one driver using one fuel), then BN remains the only option.
Pakatan Rakyat fuels cannot be used for this bus when mixed together. But what if we threw out the ‘single bus’ model and opted for a ‘tag-team model’ instead?
The tag-team model would mean that there would be separate vehicles going forward independently, but yet working together, supporting one another, even competing with each other, and united and bonded by the desire to get everyone to the same destination.
Let me elaborate.

You need to drink less and stop playing too much computer game. Why stop the ball when it's already rolling.

But first, PR must get their act together especially the PKR!!
The likelihood of a change of power at Putrajaya, based on whatever model seems rather remote now!!

Totally corrupt. Very racist. Full of very stupid people who get everything wrong all the time.
Pakatan at least so far has shown that it does not have the above qualities. Pakatan will have a few problems initially if it becomes the next government, but Pakatan has already shown us that it can work out it problems. Once all the UMNO crooks in the government departments are kicked out things will be ok..
Malaysia will soon be the poorest country in Asia and our children will have to be sent overseas as maids to earn foreign currency. Therefore, Malaysia does not have a choice now but vote Pakatan because UMNO is taking us on a path to hell.

At the Federal Level just have the ministries comprise a committee of the 3 major components and the minister one of those 3. As most govt decisions are slow, even now, a committee will no be too cumbersome.. they just need to work more efficiently.
If issues cannot be resolved by the Ministerial Committee, it goes to the Senior Ministerial Committee in the PM Dept and then to the Cabinet.
No need to change the structure that much!

basically this is a decentralising concept. but this runs smack into the State govts. logically decentralisation of authority should mean passing to the states. but how to? how to do that if/when PR is in power when BN now treats states in opposition like lepers?
so i would say in addition to federal decentralisation, get rid of state govts and have instead local govts. so we have a federal govt, fed agents to look after the regions (at present federal and state level functions) and local govts on the ground to immediately look after the people's welfare.

Even the station master is constantly being harassed and sued because he runs a popular bus and the whole business looks real shakey.
Even if Pakatan is really run like a bus service, with the constant sabotages by the enemy how can it even run properly because the enemy want to close it down totally even though it is immensely popular with the passengers.
Their main problem is an enemy who seeks to destroy them.
