Blogger Raja Petra Kamarudin has agreed to contribute to Radio Free Sarawak (RFS), the London-based radio service that began in November that promised alternative news from the crop of government radio stations.

“Radio Free Sarawak is proud to announce that the blogger Raja Petra Kamarudin has joined the show as a regular contributor,” the producers said in a statement released today.

It said that the blogger, popularly known as RPK, will provide “a daily comment on the show, offering his take on the major issues affecting Sarawak and Malaysia”.

He edits the popular Malaysia Today news portal which has released hundreds of confidential papers from the ruling Barisan Nasional (BN) federal government. The blogger is now based in London after leaving the country last year despite facing several court cases.

“RPK is someone you can listen to for hours, because not only is he funny and interesting but his insights are also based on informed research, knowledge and fact-based journalism.  When you listen to RPK you learn something.

“RPK is a veteran campaigner in Malaysia for freedom of speech, equality, and justice.  His exposes of corruption in high places has forced him to leave the country, but through RFS his voice will still be available to audiences in the State of Sarawak and throughout Malaysia.” the producers said.

RFS is educating and informing the people of Sarawak . The rest of the nation could also do with a radio station.

If only Pakatan can get a radio station going it could undo the brain-washing of UMNO and pick up millions of votes. Pakatan should look at this seriously as communication to the public is very important and the internet and 'cheramas' alone in not effective enough.

Great! What was the broadcast frequency and times again?

Looks like Kuching intends to rival Kota Baru to be capital of Malaysia. However Sabah looks completely lost to Mindanao - sad!
