(The Malaysian Insider) - The circumstances surrounding the July 9 Bersih rally have been changing since the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin issued a rare edict and met both the prime minister and Bersih leaders.

Somethings haven’t changed. Bersih is still outlawed. Wearing their yellow T-shirt with the word Bersih will land you in the lock-up.

Government agencies like Stadium Merdeka are waiting for the Cabinet to direct them whether to accept Bersih’s application. The police are waiting for Bersih’s application which must state the venue.

And now Datuk Seri Najib Razak is saying he didn’t promise to see Bersih over the rally and that it’s up to the police to decide whether the rally can proceed.

Is this a joke?

Can the government of the day stop stonewalling Bersih or waffling about where the electoral reform movement can have their rally? All this drama has made a mountain out of a molehill and makes the royal audience yesterday just a scene from a farce.

Last anyone checked, Najib is the prime minister and Malaysia is not a police state. That means he can order the police to issue a permit for a rally and tell the stadium authorities to host the event.

Take a large deposit. Impose conditions but don’t keep throwing up roadblocks to frustrate the rally. Enough has been done to snuff it out but it keeps getting bigger to the extent that it can actually realise Barisan Nasional’s nightmare of being booted out of Putrajaya in a free and fair election or actually, even in the next elections.

The government’s action today reveals that it might be having second thoughts or is getting cold feet about the Bersih rally. It also shows how insecure the Najib administration is over a coalition that just wants free and fair elections.

This insecurity and waffling have made them the butt of jokes and a source of anguish over the kind of leadership that exists in the country.

The King interceded and Bersih has acted in good faith to accept conditions put forward by Najib. It’s his turn to reciprocate and do the right thing.

Or confirm that this is a police state and let the citizens decide whether it should remain so in the next general elections.

The Najib administration can influence that decision by not treating Bersih as a joke. For the joke might be on the government later.

This stupid PM & his cousin didn't realize that the YDP Agong acted in the best interest of both the rakyat and the stupid govt. YDP Agong saved face for Jibby & his sorry azzes and helped give them a chance to look good and magnanimous .... if they had gone ahead with the promise of allowing Bersih to hold the rally in a stadium. Instead, they have now reneged on their word, making them look totally untrustworthy and dishonest. And at the same time, the Dumb and Dumber cousins have put YDP Agong is a ridiculous situation and will riddle the royal word with holes.

Dumb & Dumber cousins and his hillbilly gang have absolutely no respect for the people, for the King, for our democratic system, and for fairplay.

It clearly shows that Najib is no longer in control. He made the stadium offer without consulting his Home Minister. His Home Minister , even though cousin, is fuming. He has been made to look like a fool for all the statements he made and action taken by the police.

Looks like there is no compromise. Now pig face has again joined the fray. Let us hope that we hear from the King soon.

We know we cannot get anything thru decent negotiations with Najib or UMNO.

The way to move ahead is to just to do it. If we have to face Perkasa, UMNO youth or PDRM so be it.

We are dealing with people who throw C4s, but dare not admit it, and put the blame on others.

Najib is a weak leader with no backbone. His actions and deeds have provsn this. Every time he gets in a spot he hides and asks others to do the bidding for him. He does not qualify to be the Crime Minister or anyones leader at that. He does not meet my KPI for his job.

Its not a joke but wickedness and evil that lead the power to suppress its people to stay in power. It repeats again and again as history had shown. There must be a Way and absolute Truth that gives Life . Otherwise we are doomed forever as history had shown us. No form of government had succeeded in the world and none will be. Unless guided by the Spirit of Life we will not walk the Straight Path that will gives us liberty.
Try as we are and yet our thirst seem unable to be quenched. Once we drink the Water from the River of Life we will never thirst again. Seek , ask and knock and one shall know the Truth and the Truth shall set all free.

This is not a joke . For a free permit for all had been given to enter the Stadium of the Truth. .

All the Police roadblocks are turning out to be a blessing for Pakatan. The frustrated drivers would point thir fingers at the ruling Government.

Come the next GE, Pakatan would gain additonal votes simply because they would vent their frustration. Thanks to Barisan for their support to Pakatan.
