She is believed to be called in for questioning in relation to investigations into National Feedlot Corporation scandal

(Free Malaysia Today) - Women, Family and Community Development Minister Shahrizat Abdul Jalil was summoned to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) headquarters in Putrajaya today.

MACC director of investigations Mustafa Ali confirmed with FMT that Shahrizat was already at the offices but did not elaborate. “She is here…,” he said simply in an SMS.

Shahrizat was seen entering the building at about 4pm.

She is believed to be questioned in relation to the ongoing investigations into National Feedlot Corporation(NFCorp) scandal, in which her husband Mohamad Salleh Ismail is the chairman and her children directors in the company.

The controversy over NFCorp has been raging since October last year. The 2010 Auditor-General’s Report revealed that the government had funded the cattle-breeding project called the National Feedlot Centre (NFC) but it had failed to meet its objectives.

The NFC is a project in Gemas, Negri Sembilan, aimed at boosting the production of beef to reduce beef imports.

Opposition parties, particularly PKR, then began a series of documented exposé linking Shahrizat to allegations of abusing a RM250-million government allocation meant for the project.
