MCA confident Chinese will vote BN
The MCA is confident that Chinese voters in the Kuala Terengganu parliamentary constituency will vote for the Barisan Nasional (BN) candidate at the Jan 17 by-election to ensure that development continues.
MCA vice-president Datuk Liow Tiong Lai said after meeting with Chinese voters located in the town, MCA felt they would continue to support BN.
"I find the people here (Kampung Cina) strongly support BN. When I had a dialogue with them, I could see that they are our supporters.
"Chinese voters like to look at the benefits of choosing a candidate as their representative. It is not easy to fool them," he told reporters after closing the Cakna Health Camp in Kampung Tiong here today.
Also present at the ceremony was Bandar state assemblyman Toh Chin Yaw. Three other state constituencies represented by PAS are Wakaf Mempelam, Ladangn and Batu Buruk.
Liow, who is also health minister, said voters seeking clarification on issues pertaining to the economic downturn and increase in price of goods could ask for an explanation from the relevant ministers during the election campaign.
The Kuala Terengganu parliamentary constituency has about 9,300 Chinese voters or 11.6 per cent of the total 80,229 voters. The majority is from the Bandar constituency. – Bernama
