Pakatan Rakyat MP of Bukit Gantang passes away

The Pakatan Rakyat Member of Parliament for Bukit Gantang, Roslan Shaharum, who was from PAS, suffered a heart attack and passed away this morning.

The state seat of Changkat Jering (won by Pakatan Rakyat but whose State Assemblyman recently crossed over to Barisan Nasional) comes under the Bukit Gantang Parliament constituency.

A by-election will have to be called within 60 days once the Speaker of Parliament officially informs the Elections Commission about the now vacant seat of Bukit Gantang.
