More police reports against Karpal

(The Edge) – More and more police reports are being lodged against DAP chairman Karpal Singh following his decision to sue the Sultan of Perak, Sultan Azlan Shah, with regard to the political scenario in Perak.

The latest report was lodged by the Titiwangsa 4B Youth movement and the Wangsa Maju Umno Youth division at the Sentul district police headquarters, here yesterday.

Titiwangsa 4B Youth movement chairman Zulkifli Zainuddin said Karpal’s statement could be considered seditious and could confuse the people and lead to racial disputes.

“It can also be perceived as showing disrespect to the laws of the state government and disobeying the order issued by the Sultan of Perak,” he said.

He said police reports had also been lodged against Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) adviser Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and former Perak Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mohammad Nizar Jamaluddin.

Another report against Karpal was lodged by the information head of the Malaysia 4B Movement, Datuk Abdul Talib Fahmi, at the Brickfields district police headquarters, here at about 3.30pm.

Meanwhile, the Bukit Gelugor Umno Youth division in Penang has proposed that the Conference of Malay Rulers holds a special meeting to discuss action to be taken against Karpal who is alleged to have ridiculed the institution of Malay Rulers.

Its head, Hisham Ahmad Sabri said the Conference of Malay Rulers must take immediate action, and suggested that Karpal’s citizenship be revoked for having tarnished the honour of a Malay Ruler.

He told reporters this after lodging a police report against Karpal at the Timur Laut district police headquarters. About 100 members of the Bukit Gelugor Umno Youth movement gathered in front of the police headquarters to protest against Karpal’s decision to sue the Sultan of Perak. — Bernama
