Media’s rape on its duty to inform

A main stream media's news splurge of a supposed 'nude' photo of an assembly person certainly insults readers' intelligence and grossly dents the reputation of the nation. If this is not traitor to nation, then pray tell public-joe what is?

While any media worthy of its professional and moral calling has a categorical imperative in its duty to inform the public who have the right to know, it is very unbecoming when the media spins rough shod, harboring closely along the teasing porno-type media spins of the west.

In the first place, if what is being circulated in the media circuit is true, then the very act of the involved media in contacting the victim to inform it is heading for print is not only scandalous but betrays the very trust that society places upon the media.

Secondly, if a lady captured on a cell-phone sleeping with her clothes on is described as 'nude', then what do we call one who sleeps without any?

And the very inserts and captions accompanying the front page report in the said media screams more of a vendetta-like hunt-smear-hate agenda. Why?

Truly, it is another sad day for Malaysia. When media trust and honor is destroyed owing to agenda-driven reporting, then professional journalism is dead on all account.

The head of the media should resign for such a despicable approach in reporting.
