Why does the Tour De Langkawi have to cut through the busiest parts of Kuala Lumpur?

Spot on Mohd Rafidi Daud. This has been a perennial complaint of the business community in Kuala Lumpur. Why does the Tour De Langkawi have to cut through the busiest parts of Kuala Lumpur? Not only does it cause traffic jams, they also closed main roads like Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman and Jalan Tun Perak.

 

Tens of thousands of motorists were caught in massive traffic jams and thousands of businesses lost millions of Ringgit in sales because our customers could not drive and park in our shopping areas.

 

The whole of the Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman, Jalan Masjid India, Jalan Silang, Jalan Tun Perak and other areas were forced to suffer losses when the roads were closed for the Tour De langkawi.

 

I have said this before: why not have the Tour De Langkawi in Putrajaya, which is still so empty or even around Taman Tasik Titiwangsa which is so huge and empty too?
