Anti-Tee Keat EGM Brewing

(MySinchew) – Those opposing to MCA president Datuk Ong Tee Keat said they could get at least the signatures of more than 800 party delegates within a week to support their motion to call for an emergency general meeting.

It has been understood that the major agenda of this EGM will be to table a no-confidence motion towards Tee Keat's leadership.

We have learned that these people are waiting for a "suitable timing" to launch a signature collecting campaign. It has been estimated that the EGM will be held possibly in April.

Insiders say since they have the confidence to secure enough signatures from the central delegates to call for the EGM, they also have the confidence that more than half of the delegates will support the no-confidence motion towards Ong Tee Keat.

From what we understand, the anti-Tee Keat faction has chosen to hold the EGM in April to avoid the 29 March nomination day and 7 April polling day for Bukit Gantang and Bukit Selambau by-elections. Besides, they also try to complete the EGM before cabinet reshuffle following the end-March UMNO elections.
