Ngeh tells assemblymen not to co-operate with cops

(The Star) – All Pakatan assemblymen have been told not to co-operate with the police unless the police are also investigated under Section 124 of the Penal Code, said Perak DAP chief Datuk Ngeh Koo Ham.

Section 124 of the Penal Code concerns the obstructing of elected representatives from carrying out their duties.

“This is not a police state,” he said, referring to the police’s action in calling up Pakatan state representatives for questioning for various developments, including the sitting of the state assembly under a tree.

Ngeh said this in his speech at a rally to celebrate the first anniversary of the March 8 general election last year. A big crowd had turned up at Tow Boo Keong temple hall.

Many made do by standing outside the hall, watching the rally from a giant screen.
