Keep Your Emotions In Check – Raja Muda Of Perlis

(Bernama) — The Raja Muda of Perlis Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail has urged Muslims not to be overwhelmed with predilections and emotions as they were the reasons behind the confusion in the society.

He expressed his worry over unwarranted actions taken by certain quarters, who played on the emotions and value judgement of the people, as they could be detrimental to the society.

Whatever differences among the people should be resolved amicably and with unity uppermost in the mind, he said when opening a seminar entitled "Who is 'Ahli Sunnah Waljamaah' – Between Accolades and Reality" at the Tuanku Syed Putra Mosque here Monday.

"The sources of confusion and rapacious actions had to be studied and uncovered until they are fully understood without being affected by emotions," he said.

Tuanku Syed Faizuddin, who is also Perlis Islamic Religious Council (MAIPs) president, said Muslims should weigh the pitfalls, and merits and demerits of any drastic actions by not reacting hastily.

He said the palace and religious scholars should enhance cooperation in enhancing the Muslims' belief in the Sunnah Waljamaah.

"I do not want the Sunnah Waljamaah enshrined in the state constitution to remain merely as a slogan and not understood and embraced by Muslims," he said.

The three-day seminar is organised by the state government with the cooperation of MAIPs, the Al Qalam Welfare Organisation and the Tuanku Syed Putra Mosque Committee.
