Selangor MB meets Elizabeth Wong

(The Star) – Selangor Mentri Besar Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim met troubled Bukit Lanjan assemblyman and exco member Elizabeth Wong at his official residence Saturday morning.

Khalid said Wong paid him a visit at 9.00am and both had a discussion for over an hour.

“We discussed her views as well as my views and this would be put forward to the exco next Wednesday,” said Khalid.

Khalid, who spoke to a press conference at the Pakatan Rakyat’s one-year anniversary celebrations,” said he and his exco members would decide on Wong’s status during their weekly Wednesday meeting next week.

He added this was in line with Selangor Sultan Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shahs advice that he (Khalid) and the state executive councilors settle the issue.

Wong tendered in her resignation as Bukit Lanjan assemblyman and exco member after some revealing pictures of her were circulated to the media.

She had said she was resigning in the best interest of her party PKR and that of the states Pakatan Rakyat ruling coalition.

Khalid also said Wong would not be attending the crucial exco meeting next Wednesday.

He added Wong was also scheduled to undergo a minor surgery on her back.

When asked about speculation that Wong would relinquish her position as executive councilor but would continue as Bukit Lanjan assemblyman, Khalid said was unaware of such speculation.

Wong had been on leave for a month since the scandal broke out last month and had not returned to her Bukit Gasing home since. – Bernama
