Rocky: Rock of Indonesia? Or Tofu?
One, two, three years ago, you can see how he browbeats the government of Abdullah. What can be the most potent ammunition in the arsenal? Race, of course.
For years, Ahiruddin Attan alias Rocky’s Bru put on the cover for his hatred of Abdullah Badawi as an anti-Barisan Nasional position and thus constructed buddy circles centred on legislators like Jeff Ooi, lawyer Haris Ibrahim and the royal blood in Raja Petra Kamarudin. The appearance you get from these circles was like-mindedness. Barisan led by Umno are a bunch of racists doing incredible harm to the country (as if that’s anything new).
He sang along with them pious songs about the government’s wickedness and to portray his righteous sanity. Now, five, six years later, with Abdullah gone (and mission accomplished), Ahiruddin is back in mainstream media circulation. Ah! the veil is suddenly off the face. Almost immediately the fist fights pop up on the Internet, notably with Petra and with Haris. Mr Ooi is too embarrassed to even mention his name anymore.
