FT PPP wants Kayveas to step down
(The Star) KUALA LUMPUR: Exco members of the Federal Territory People’s Progressive Party (PPP) have asked its president Datuk M. Kayveas to step down to make way for new leaders.
Its information chief R. Rajendra also called for members to take a vote of no confidence against Kayveas, and branch chairman A. Chandrankumanan.
He told reporters that exco members had called for Datuk T. Murugiah to take over the party leadership.
Rajendra said Chandrankumanan’s statement calling for Murugiah’s resignation did not reflect the sentiments of the majority of the branch exco members.
“A check with the Registrar of Societies showed that Chandrankumanan is not registered as the branch chairman and the party records have not been updated since 2002,” he said, urging the registrar to investigate the matter.
