Perak Umno to get feedback on unresolved woes
(NST) IPOH: Perak Umno has adopted a key performance indicator (KPI) and will seek feedback from the people on outstanding problems that have remained unsolved for years.
State liaison chairman Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir said the aim was to cut red tape.
The implemenation of the KPI was taken at a meeting of the state liaison Umno committee chaired by Zambry on Tuesday.
"The people will gauge the performance of Umno members in solving their problems through the KPI which would also be used to strengthen the party and rectify any short-comings which might have gone unnoticed.
"This would also include the relationship with government departments as the people expect the party to liaise with the departments and agencies to take action to solve their problems.
"One of the major problems is the issuance of the land titles in the state."
He was speaking after chairing the weekly state executive council meeting here yesterday.
Zambry, who is also the menteri besar, said a special committee, chaired by state secretary Datuk Abdul Rahman Hashim with several executive councillors as members, would look into outstanding problems and find ways to reduce bureaucracy.
On investments in the state, he said: "It had been encouraging as we have received RM700 million worth of projects in the last three months.
"I received the representative of a group of Middle East investors yesterday who plan to invest in the state while a Chinese delegation will be meeting my adviser Datuk Chang Ko Youn."
