Three police constables were arrested for allegedly raping a 17-year-old Indonesian teenager at their house in Serdang yesterday.
It is learnt that the policemen, who are attached to the Serdang police station and are aged between 22 and 26, had befriended the girl and invited her for dinner at a restaurant.
It is learnt that after the outing, the off-duty policemen took the girl who does not possess legal travel documents and is said to be jobless, back to their rented house where the alleged sexual assault took place at about 3am.
They suspects then sent the teenager back to her home. Hours later, she lodged a police report and the policemen were arrested by their colleagues. The men are being held under remand to facilitate the probe.
Selangor police chief DCP Datuk Khalid Abu Bakar said police are investigating and are awaiting the outcome of medical tests carried out on the teenager and policemen.
“If it is indeed found to be true, the constables will face the full brunt of the law. We would not tolerate such things and allow such personnel to tarnish the image of the police force,” he said.
