Zambry slams Pakatan tactic
(The Star) IPOH: Perak Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abd Kadir has lashed out at Pakatan Rakyat for making press statements before the court gives its decision.
Calling it a “pre-emptive strike” aimed at conditioning the minds of the people, Dr Zambry said he wanted to remain firm so as not to interfere in any way with the outcome of a court’s decision.
“What is this? The court has not even sat and you are trying to condition the minds of the people, probably including the judge.
“If that is not contempt, what would you call it?” retorted Zambry after the state executive councillors meeting here yesterday.
He said this to reporters when asked to comment on the appeal against the High Court ruling and Nizar’s application to set aside the stay order to be heard today.
The past few months saw both Barisan and Pakatan waging legal battles for legitimacy through the courts.
Dr Zambry pointed out that unlike Pakatan, he accepted the High Court decision on May 11 ruling that Datuk Seri Mohammad Nizar Jamaluddin was the rightful mentri besar.
“The moment I heard the decision, I left my (office) room as a matter of principle. And I never in any way questioned (the decision),” he said.
