Know your limits, Najib tells Hindraf 5

The threat of re-arrest looms for the Hindraf leaders recently freed from detention should they insist on making extreme statements.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak shot this warning to the five who were released from detention under the Internal Security Act (ISA) in light of continuous demands by the Indian pressure group.

Exiled Hindraf chairman P. Waythamoorthy had threatened to organise more public rallies if the ISA releases were subject to review while Kota Alam Shah assemblyman M. Manoharan had asked that all Malaysians born after independence be given Bumiputra status.

"It depends on developments. There are limits to what you can voice out, so do not overstep it," Najib replied when asked if they would be rearrested.

"If they make extreme statements, it is up to people to judge their attitude," he added.

Najib also said that his 1 Malaysia concept promoting unity should not be abused to make unrealistic demands.
