Police raid DAP HQ without warrant (Updated with videos)

(The Star) – Police raided DAP headquarters in Petaling Jaya on Saturday night without a warrant and seized a CPU and 19 DVDs.

The raid was in connection with the candle-light vigil two nights ago in Pandan Indah calling for a dissolution of the state assembly and fresh elections in Perak.

The raid by 12 plainclothesmen headed by ASP Kamal Khan Mohd Shariff was at 6.25pm ending at 7.30pm.

They also brought along a handcuffed Ulu Selangor MP Ooi Leng Heng, 34, to show where certain pamphlets were churned out.

Ooi is under remand till Sunday for taking part in the vigil.

ASP Kamal said the raid was being conducted under the Printing Press and Publications Act 1984.

Puchong MP Gobind Deo Singh told reporters later that the police acted wrongly when they conducted a raid without a warrant under the act.

“It’s a clear cut unlawful invasion and trespass of private property and I will be lodging a police report,” he said.
