Zahrain denounces Aminah as ‘compulsive liar’

(NST) Penang Parti Keadilan Rakyat chairman Datuk Zahrain Mohamed Hashim has branded independent candidate in the Penanti by-election on Sunday (May 31), Aminah Abdullah, a “compulsive liar.”

He was unfazed by the challenges and accusations hurled against him and the party by the former state PKR Wanita chief.

“She is no longer relevant to me or the party. Her participation in this by-election is merely to tarnish PKR's image for her own gain,’ he said when contacted yesterday.

Zahrain said he was prepared for any action taken against him by Aminah.

"She can lodge a police report or sue me in court. I am not afraid at all," he said.

Earlier, Aminah threw a challenge to Zahrain to answer within 24 hours about what happened at a hotel in Jawi, Nibong Tebal, near here in 2007.

She also warned Zahrain not to push her too far.

On her challenge, he said he would not respond as “I would if was from Umno but from this woman, I don't see any need to reply to her.’

"I am not going to waste time entertaining her nonsense," he said, adding that his main focus was to help PKR's Mansor Othman win the by-election.

Meanwhile, PKR election director Saifuddin Nasution also downplayed Aminah's constant attacks against the party.

He said PKR would no longer entertain her but instead leave it to its lawyers to handle.
