Ibrahim makes early start to ceramah rounds

(The Star) KOTA BARU: The Manek Urai by-election is more than a month away, but Pasir Mas independent Member of Parliament Datuk Ibrahim Ali has already started his ceramah rounds.

He was at Kampung Sungai Soi near Manek Urai on Sunday night where he told the people to take advantage of the by-election by asking for everything “under the sun and the sky”.

During his ceramah, which attracted more than 400 people, he took a swipe at both PAS and Barisan Nasional.

He advised the people of Manek Urai not to fall for empty promises by either PAS or Barisan, but instead to make demands from both sides in return for their votes.

“The political parties are wooing you. This is the time to make demands. You must make sure that you get something in return as both Barisan and PAS are begging for your vote.”

He also said that Barisan had ruled Kelantan for years without doing much for the people, especially in rural areas like Manek Urai.

The same, he said, was also true of the present PAS rule, except for the fierce politicking which was getting out of hand.

“I don’t see PAS doing anything to lift the standard of living of the people here and I cannot see it changing in the next 20 years if PAS continues to be selfish,” he said.
