We don’t Huan him, says PKR Youth

(The Star) GEORGE TOWN: Penang PKR Youth has strongly opposed any move by Gerakan vice-president Huan Cheng Guan, whose membership has been suspended for three years, to join the party.

The wing believed Huan had no moral high ground to join the party and would gravely affect PKR’s standing and image as a progressive party, its vice-chairman Sim Tze Tzin said, referring to talk that Huan might join PKR.

In a statement, he said the wing had observed a trend among Barisan Nasional leaders to use PKR as a platform to further negotiate with their respective parties.

He cited the example of Datuk Arif Shah, the Seberang Jaya state assemblyman, who threatened Umno that he would cross over to PKR over his fight with his division chairman.

Sim said Huan had never indicated his intention to join PKR to fight for justice, human rights and democracy.
