Responding to “fairminded”

fairminded, sorting out our country is exactly what all MT readers and staff is attempting to do, even with this article that you have taken heart to. Read between the lines and read what the other commentators have to say. That might help put you in the same frame of mind of what is actually written there.

By Hakim Joe

“Dear Harkim Joe. Have you ever heard of the saying "Those who live in glass houses should not throw stones"? In the first place we have not been able to sort out our country. By saying that another country is corrupted etc does not help much but to create enemies for Malaysia. Another point is that where did you get all these news from? Western presses? Have you lived through their revolution (throwing out the USA puppet, Shah of Iran? If you have lived in Iran then how long have you live in Iran? Another 2 week expert on Iran? Unless you have done serious research into Iran I suggest that you stop mouthing the Western press on Iran and concentrate on solving our problems. We had enough on our plate. Leave the Iranians to solve it their way.” – fairminded, June 24, 2009 14:05:18

fairminded, if nobody cared about what’s happening to other people in other parts of the world, then the body called United Nations might as well close shop and go home. Same with international organizations like Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch, Transparency International, the International Red Cross, Helsinki Commission, World Court, World Wildlife Fund, UNESCO, UNICEF and a whole long list of others.

fairminded, if one needs to be an expert before being permitted to give an opinion of events, then 90% of the entire world’s journalists, reporters and editors might as well leave their jobs. Who qualifies as an expert, anyway? Someone who has spent 50 years doing research on the subject? Perhaps you are an expert and have spent 50 years doing such research on Iran. If that is so, my apologies to you.

fairminded, since you placed a question mark at the end of your statement about myself quoting ad verbatim the “Western Presses”, I would assume it to be a question and questions require answers before you can make a judgment on it. However, after asking the question, you proceeded to pile accusations that “…you stop mouthing the Western press on Iran…”. So, was the initial question a question or just a remark that you so happened to formulate on your very own, in your free time?

fairminded, unless you can quote the sources where I based that article on, you are wrong to say that I am “mouthing” the Western press. Or can you? Well?

fairminded, since I am quite certain that no Malaysian reporters “lived through their revolution”, that automatically places them in the same predicament I am in now (through your eyes), and similarly, since no reporters were there when DSAI got his black eye, they should not be reporting on it as well. Am I correct in such an assumption, (question mark)?

BTW, I have no intentions whatsoever of living in a glass house (unless it is gilted in 24K gold, framed in diamonds, surrounded by beautiful nubile girls and loaded with cash).

The author wishes to acknowledge the fact that the above article was written in jest to intentionally mislead. “Loosen up, fellas!”
