PAS faction determined to talk to Umno

After failing to hold unity talks with Umno, the conservative faction of the Islamist party is now pushing for an “intellectual” discussion with Umno Youth, in a sign that the fiasco has not been laid to rest.

PAS Youth chief Nasrudin Hassan, in a joint press conference with Umno Youth deputy chief Datuk Razali Ibrahim today, said the talks are aimed at resolving the political standoff between the two parties.

Nasrudin added that the talks will be beneficial to the Malaysian public.

“We hope this will be the beginning of many more discussions and to have an intellectual culture in solving problems,” Nasrudin said.
