Assemblyman accepts Khir’s challenge to sell mansion

(NST) A DAP state assemblyman has taken up a challenge by former Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Mohd Khir Toyo to become his 'real estate agent' and sell the latter's controversial mansion for a 50 per cent commission.

Earlier, Sekinchan assemblyman Ng Sue Lim claimed that the mansion in Section 7 here was worth RM24 million – a figure dismissed by Dr Khir.

"Today, I formally accept his offer to become his broker. Give me an open offer letter (to become an agent), an authorization letter and the house keys. I will sell the house," he said at a press conference here today.

Ng claimed he had four potential buyers willing to pay more than RM8 million for the Bali-themed mansion, indicating that it was worth more than RM3.5 million, as the buyers offered double the amount, without even viewing the mansion.

Yesterday, Dr Khir, who is also Sungai Panjang assemblyman, denied the house and two lots of land measuring 0.5ha, cost him RM24 million.

He said he had bought the lands, including the bungalow built on one of the lands, via a loan with a 30-year pay back period from HSBC Bank, three years ago.

Dr Khir was reported in a local daily today, that he planned to take legal action against Ng for alleging that the mansion cost RM24 million.
