THE late Teoh Beng Hock's fiancee Soh Cher Wei wants to marry him in an 'afterworld' wedding, reported China Press.

The daily quoted Ms Soh as saying that this was not an impulsive decision but one that she had thought about long and hard.

'My parents want me to think twice about the decision but I have decided to marry him no matter what,' she said. It is understood that Ms Soh's parents had wanted her to reconsider her decision as she was still young and might meet someone else in the future.

Mr Teoh, 30, a former journalist, was a political aide to Ean Yong Hian Wah, the Selangor state executive councillor for new village development and illegal factory task force, was found dead on July 16 on the fifth floor balcony of Plaza Masalam.

Plaza Masalam, in Shah Alam, houses the office of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) on the 14th floor. Prior to his death, Mr Teoh had been questioned by the MACC regarding the alleged misappropriation of state allocations.

Mr Teoh was to become a father, as Ms Soh was already two months pregnant with their first child. 'I will raise the child to treasure our love,' Ms Soh, 28, a teacher from Semenyih, told reporters at the Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital's mortuary.

Ms Soh and Mr Teoh had planned to register their marriage in Malacca a day after his death. The couple met five years ago while studying at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia and were in a relationship for two years before their engagement two weeks ago.
