Umno Ampang stands by MACC

Umno Ampang today went against popular opinion, holding an impromptu show of support for the beleaguered Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC), which they claim have been made the fall guys in the death of a DAP political aide.
Some 50 Umno Ampang members and a handful of Barisan Nasional (BN) allies gathered in an open air parking lot outside the Ampang Point shopping centre late this afternoon along Jalan Ampang to make their stand.
Holding aloft makeshift placards on flimsy manila cardboards, the men and women attracted much attention from their post on the sidewalk with their chants condemning their political rivals.
“Don’t turn Malaysia into a republic!”
“DAP, PAS, PKR prejudiced. MACC is a victim!”
“Don’t disturb MACC and police from their duty. Continue investigations.”
“This issue may be a personal conspiracy by the Pakatan Rakyat!”
Some vehicles passing by honked in support. A public bus driver even gave them his thumbs up while navigating the narrow passageway.
