Staff Welfare

By Chris

Whilst all fingers are being pointed at the MACC, I am rather puzzled as to the staff welfare concerns shown towards Teoh by his employers whilst being taken into custody or ostensibly being questioned as a witness by the MACC.

It is really sad to read all the writeups on the mysterious death of Teoh and the uncertainty of the culminating events that transpired whilst in the custody of MACC.

After Teoh had been taken into custody and not released after such a long period of time, shouldn't the thought as to why it is taking such long hours which is not within the ambit of MACC to question suspects after certain hours occurred to his diligent superiors? So far, I have not read in any press releases that any superior from Teoh’s place of employment had taken any effort to be present at the MACC office to question the non-release of Teoh. Had someone from the employer's office been concerned and made an attempt to gather at the MACC office on the night of the tragic incident, perhaps this tragedy could possibly have been avoided.

I have been in a similar situation where my fellow employee was taken into the custody of the police and being a responsible employee had spent many hours outside the police station awaiting till my managers were safely released.

I suppose this could be a lesson learned and to ponder about so as not to have dedicated employees being sacrificed without recourse.
