Opposition Parties Want To Meet PM To Discuss Pressing Matters

(Bernama) — Leaders of the opposition parties want to have a meeting with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak immediately to discuss several pressing matters including the role of the Royal Commission to investigate the death of a political aide to a Selangor State Executive Councillor, Teoh Beng Hock.

Opposition Leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said the opposition pact wanted the scope of the commission to be widened and not confined to the investigation process only.

"We want the commission to also investigate the cause of Teoh's death," the Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) advisor told reporters after chairing a meeting of the Pakatan Rakyat Leadership Council at the Parliament House, here Tuesday.

Anwar said the meeting also hoped to get Najib's views so that he would agree to abolish the Internal Security Act (ISA).
