MACC report over alleged irregularities

(Bernama) – Kedah Umno Youth lodged a report with the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) over alleged irregularities in awarding logging tender involving state government leaders.

Its chief Badrulhisham Hashim, who was accompanied by Pokok Sena division Youth head Harris Che Mat, took about one and a half hours on Wednesday to make the report at the Kedah MACC office in Anak Bukit,

It is understood that Kedah MACC deputy director Abdul Aziz Ishak and an officer took the statement from Badrulhisham.

“Kedah Umno Youth has taken this action as we are convinced that the controversy (in issuing the logging tender) involves certain state government leaders who had not been transparent,” said Badrulhisham when met by reporters after making the report.

“The awarding of the tender for logging at Lot 1771, Bukit Kachi in the Kubang Pasu district involved iregularities,” he added.

He believed the MACC would investigate his report in a fair and transparent manner.

He said Umno Youth lodged the report after getting the evidence which had been handed over to the MAAC for further action.

“I believe the MACC will be able to uncover this case,” he added.
