Movement condemns ISA

(The Star) – The Malaysia Youth And Students Democratic Movement has condemned the Internal Security Act (ISA) and described it as “anti-human rights and anti-democracy”.

“The ISA and other laws which have such characteristics is clearly against the Federal Constitution. Therefore, we strongly oppose the law based on the principles of justice that we uphold in society,” it said in a statement yesterday.

The movement also pointed out that the ISA was against the Univer-sal Declaration of Human Rights.

It urged the authorities to release detainees under the ISA or other laws against human rights and democracy who have been found not guilty.
