‘Win big in next general election’

(NST) – KUALA LUMPUR: Barisan Nasional chairman Datuk Seri Najib Razak wants the coalition to win the 13th general election in style through hard work and strong unity among its leaders and members.

He said the coalition should not be content winning with a low majority.

The recipe to get the people’s support is to put the people above all, said Najib, who is also the prime minister and Umno president.

“If the PM can go to the ground to meet the people by doing away with protocols, division leaders can do the same too,” he told some 300 Ampang Umno delegates at the division meeting yesterday.

He was troubled by some quarters in the party who refused to help any candidate not of their choice.

For those who lobbied to be chosen as candidates by following him wherever he wentNajib said he would not be influenced by themIn the next general election, Najib promised that he would select candidates who were well liked by the electorate“When I make my decisionwill not base it only on one source of reference.
Instead, I will refer to many other sources to choose candidates who have the chance to win big.

The prime minister also stressed again on the need to reform and formulate new policies“I’ve tried to reform (the party) at the national level, including with the 1Malaysia concept by putting the people first, based on the spirit of the Constitution.

“We must be fair to all races. God has given Malaysia enough rezeki (provisions) to help others,” he said.
