Rais: Stop trying to taint Rohaizat’s image

(NST) BUTTERWORTH: Information, Communication and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Dr Rais Yatim said personal issues should not be used in election campaigns to taint a candidate's image or character.

With such a campaigning style, he said a party would only win in terms of defaming the person, but not win the election.

"If we want to win, we should use issues related to nation-building.

"In any struggle, a person's leadership qualities should shine through, not his actions in bad-mouthing his opponent," Rais said after visiting RTM's operations centre at Sunway Hotel in Seberang Jaya near here.

Rais also called on his "friends" in the opposition to stop using personal issues against Rohaizat, to create prejudice against the latter.

He urged Pas leaders, who were highly educated in religion, to concentrate on showing their good side.
