Transport Minister and MCA president Datuk Seri Ong Tee Keat was questioned by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) for two hours yesterday on issues pertaining to the Port Klang Free Zone (PKFZ) project and the allegations made against him by Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing.

When met by reporters after the meeting, Ong said he was called by MACC to assist in its investigations and he had given his full cooperation.

"We had a lengthy talk on PKFZ and the allegation by Kuala Dimensi (Sdn Bhd) CEO (Tiong). Much of it touched on personal details, background of the case and chronology of events. There were also some relevant questions regarding the issues," he said.

Ong, accompanied by his political secretary Simon Lim, was seen entering the MACC headquarters here at 10am and came out at 1.15pm.

Asked why he did not have his lawyers around, he said: "I don't need a lawyer. Why do I need a lawyer?"

Ong said he made it clear from the outset that he was prepared to furnish MACC with any information on PKFZ and Tiong's allegations.

"Whatever information they want, tell me and I will give the necessary cooperation to assist in investigation," he said, adding that he was willing to speak once again to MACC if it wanted additional information.

Tiong, who is also Bintulu MP and BN Backbenchers Club chairman, claimed that he had given Ong RM10 million cash as a donation to MCA.

Tiong himself has been questioned by MACC twice on PKFZ and also on his allegations against Ong. Ong has denied receiving the money and has sued Tiong for RM500 million for failing to retract the statement.

Asked to comment on sacked MCA deputy president Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek's claim that his supporters had garnered more than the required 800 signatures from party central delegates to requisition an EGM, Ong said: "I'm not interested to comment on that."
