MIC Youth wants Khir to say sorry over ‘stupid cow’ statement

(The Star) – MIC Youth wants former Selangor Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Mohd Khir Toyo to retract his “stupid cow” comment and issue a public apology.

Its social and welfare bureau chief S. Subramaniam said the comments, published on the online portal Malaysiakini, were insulting to Hindus.

He expressed shock the Selangor Opposition leader was “not a religion-conscious person” and warned that Dr Khir’s comments could further damage Barisan Nasional’s image.

“He must immediately retract his statement and issue a public apology,” said Subramaniam, adding that Dr Khir’s comment would further erode the Indian community’s confidence in MIC.

Subramaniam, accompanied by several supporters, lodged a police report on the matter at the Sentul police station at 2.30pm yesterday.

He also lodged a second police report on an anonymous letter he received on Aug 26 suggesting that a 29-year-old lawyer who plunged to her death from a 17th floor apartment in Bukit OUG in June 2007 may have been killed instead.

A police spokesman confirmed receiving both police reports.
