By Mark Teh
2-episode special this week!
The cow-head controversy in Shah Alam has shocked Malaysians for the past 10 days, and its repercussions are still unfolding.
Malaysiakini is currently being investigated by the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) for posting 2 videos related to the event (the cow-head protest on 28 August 2009, and Home Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein's subsequent press conference on the protest). Earlier today, the MCMC again visited Malaysiakini, this time demanding for them to surrender the original tapes of the two events.
We speak with Steven Gan (co-founder and editor-in-chief) of Malaysiakini about the investigation and the news portal's response. This interview was shot on Wednesday, 9 September 2009.

We also speak with Sharil Tarmizi (Chief Operating Officer, MCMC) to learn about the 'whats' and 'whys' of the MCMC. This interview was shot on Tuesday, 8 September 2009. (Note: we apologise for the techical glitch in this video. The camera suffered a power problem, and we ended shooting the interview with a phone camera, heh).
