Pos Malaysia to probe undelivered MB’s cards

(The Malay Mail) POS Malaysia Bhd believes the 2,000 Hari Raya greeting cards from Selangor Menteri Besar Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim, dumped in an apartment block on Monday, could probably be due to “an accident”, rather that be politically-motivated.

Pos Malaysia Bhd group corporate communications head Datin Rohaiza Hashim said the incident is under investigation.

“I am waiting for the full report before I can comment any further,” Rohaiza said.

On Monday, about 2,000 Hari Raya greeting cards bearing Khalid’s picture were found in the guardhouse of an apartment block in Bandar Seri Damansara.

The cards were part of some 7,000 Hari Raya greeting cards sent out to the people early this month. An apartment resident, who found the cards, reported the matter to the Khalid’s political secretary.

Chinese daily Sin Chew reported that during a Press conference organised by the Menteri Besar’s office after a meeting with Pos Malaysia representatives, it was said the dumped postcards could have been purely a delivery system problem and not politically-motivated.

According to the Pos Malaysia representatives, several locations were chosen during festive periods as drop-off points for letters to be delivered within an area, and the cards could have been “accidentally left” at that location.

Sin Chew also reported that the postman on duty had realised that the bags were missing but thought the cards had been distributed by a colleague.

It was further claimed that a resident of Bandar Seri Damansara saw the cards being left at the guardhouse. He alerted the postman but was ignored.
