Barisan Nasional today retains Bagan Pinang with an unprecedented landslide, as Dato Seri Najib's choice of fielding Tan Sri Isa Samad is vindicated with a major UMNO victory over the Opposition.

The fact that the current implosion in MCA did not translate into a loss of confidence by the Chinese on BN suggests that the problems are transient and the community's support can be regained once MCA has weathered through this leadership crisis.
