Self-destruction on what it seems “the right thing to do”

By Semuaok

What we choose to do is supposedly based on a “simple reality” – we love what we like and we hate what we don’t like. Hence, I love you because you are my kind and one must love his or her kind; and we believe there can be no other option.

That’s without saying, “I hate you because you are not my kind.”

However, what is right to one person may not be right to another. So, saying, “I am doing good,” should never be used as a personal justification because your actions might ultimately lead to a negative outcome – even if you had not meant for them to be. The concept of the Greater Good is as abstract as life; there is no clear definition of the Greater Good.

Our intention to do good allows our British “friends” to instil in us that we should always love our kind, which is gradually being narrowed down to Malay, Chinese & Indian by our “friends.” It seems there is nothing wrong about this and “it’s the right thing to do”.

“While the strategy of divide and conquer was used most effectively, an important aspect of British rule in India was the psychological indoctrination of an elite layer within Indian society who were artfully tutored into becoming model British subjects. This English-educated layer of Indian society was craftily encouraged in absorbing values and notions about themselves and their land of birth that would be conducive to the British occupation of India, and furthering British goals of looting India’s physical wealth and exploiting it’s labor.” (Wikipedia Divide and Rule.)

1) Replace India with Malaysia.

2) Replace the British with UMNO

3) British/UMNO subjects will be: you, me, and yes, even RPK.

We know the Malay vote is split between PAS and UMNO. UMNO Malay is UMNO but PAS Malay is split between “hard core Muslims” and the moderate Muslims no thanks to articles like “What Many Malays Do Not Know” and some ex-UMNO. What happened in Bagan Pinang will happen again. I just do not understand why something so personal and unanswerable is still being argued over and over again; we are not God. I know little about religion and much less about Muslims and the Quran but I do know it is our common goal to bring everyone closer together for the Greater Good.

We know UMNO divisive politics and understand their greed. The question has to be asked, “Why must we become UMNO subjects and why must we behave in this self-defeating manner?” There are a million psychological reasons. But, I think what is perhaps the most obvious one is that we do not believe in ourselves and are not content with our own lives. As our confidence diminishes and our lives remain unfulfilled, we must move away from ourselves and try to step into the world of other people to provide meaning for our own existence.

If we continue to subconsciously unleash these types of negative activities on another person or his or her belief, all these actions will set a course of hatred into motion among us that will come back to haunt us as all negative actions do.
