Justifying Racism – A Study In Idiocy
Do you dare to voice your true opinion and risk failing the course and being forced to repeat it? Most just swallow this bitter pill and toe the line, even though they have just been told, in no uncertain terms, that they have no place in this country and that if they do not like it, they can take a hike and go back to India or China. Never mind the fact that EVERYONE was born here in Malaysia.

If I were to bang my head against the wall everytime I read about how stupid our ministers are, well, I wouldn’t have a head left years ago. They never cease to amaze me with their stupidity… and complete lack of self-awareness (of how stupid they sound).
Take the recent issue of the government’s BTN (Biro Tata Negara – National Civics Bureau) courses. Anyone who has gone through it knows just how bloody racist those programmes are.
Every government employee and every government scholar has to go through the course AT LEAST once. No exceptions. And what kind of wisdom does this course impart? R.A.C.I.S.M.
Imagine going through lectures where they flash you slides of the May 13 emergency and warn the non-Bumiputras that this is exactly what YOU will get if you continue to vote for the opposition.
Then they force you to take tests which are little more than thinly-veiled attempts to indoctrinate you that the Barisan Nasional government is good and the Opposition are just trying to disrupt the country’s peace and stability.

It took the banning of the BTN course by the Opposition-controlled state of Selangor to bring this issue to the forefront of the public mind. And guess what the government is doing?
One “genius” says there was never anything racist about the programme, another “genius” contradicts him and say that yes, some parts “may have been” racist and we will change it. Yet another “genius” comes along and say the programme has always been changing to “suit the current climate”.
The latest “genius” from the government to impart his wisdom on the subject is none other than the most esteemed Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department, Datuk Ahmad Maslan. Give the man a clap for opening his mouth, boys… and a slap for using it to spout nonsense.
This was what The Edge reported :
Quote:
According to Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Ahmad Maslan, there is nothing wrong with the programme. “Just because something wrong is said for one minute in a hour-long lecture does not mean that the programme is geared to promote racism,” Ahmad Maslan said in the Parliament lobby today. He was responding to allegations that racists remarks were passed during the lectures. The Umno information chief said the national civics bureau programmes were geared towards instilling patriotism, nationalism and moral values. The deputy minister, however, did not deny that elements of Malay supremacy were evident in the programme. “When it is told that more than two-thirds of the racial composition in the country were bumiputera, is that racism?” he asked. “What we do teach in the BTN programmes is on the history of the country and the constitution,” he retorted. According to Ahmad Maslan, BTN programmes were continuously tweaked to suit the current climate. “During the previous prime minister’s (Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi), the programme had sections to boost human capital. “Under Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s administration, we have introduced concepts from 1Malaysia into the programme,” said the Pontian member of parliament. He said the adjustments have been made since April 15 after Najib announced the 1Malaysia concept on April 3 |
Hello, Mr. Minister, does Malay supremacy not equate to racism???? Anytime someone says that one race or another is (or must be) superior or inferior to another race, that is RACISM! That kinda contradicts the 1Malaysia “concept” of racial unity that your boss, Mr. Najib (yes la, the Prime Minister!) has been trying to promote, doesn’t it?
I think the best response I’ve seen to your senseless statement was from a guy name Kenny :

Following is Ahmad’s first statement in the article: “Just because something wrong is said for one minute in a hour-long lecture does not mean that the programme is geared to promote racism,” Ahmad Maslan said in the Parliament lobby today. Answer: Just because somebody kills Ahmad Maslan once in Ahmad’s 43 years of life does not mean the murderer is promoting violence. |
Enough said!
