Penang CM faces sedition probe

(The Star) – Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng is being investigated by Selangor police for allegedly making seditious remarks during the Pakatan Rakyat convention in Shah Alam recently.

It was believed that Lim was commenting on the death of political aide Teoh Beng Hock and allegedly described it as murder.

State police chief Deputy Comm Datuk Khalid Abu Bakar said police received a report on Monday on the issue and would ask Lim to record his statement as soon as possible.

“Either we send an officer to Penang to meet with him or he could come to us,” he said yesterday.

He added that people should not comment on an ongoing investigation, which could instigate the public.
