PI Bala’s lawyers feel safer abroad
(Free Malaysia Today) – Private investigator P. Balasubramaniam, whose statutory declaration in July 2008 alleged that Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak had a relationship with murdered Mongolian model Altantuya Shaariibu, is awaiting MACC’s response to his formal letter.
His lawyer Americk Sidhu, who is living overseas for fear of harassment by local authorities, said Bala was prepared to meet MACC officials in London or Singapore.
“He’s not going back (to Malaysia). He does not feel safe there. I speak to him every day. He is waiting for my instructions. Once MACC agrees to his terms, we will take the next step,” he said.
Americk said lawyer Manjeet Singh Dhillion was acting on his behalf on the matter with MACC. He said a formal letter was sent to MACC stating Bala’s willingness, subject to conditions, to assist MACC.
