Herald lawyer’s office ransacked
(Free Malaysia Today) – The office of the lawyer representing the Catholic Church in the Herald case has been broken into.
“I believe this action is directed towards intimidating us in the matter we are handling for the church,” said Derek Fernandez (picture), who is also a Petaling Jaya municipal councillor.
A member of his staff who arrived for work at about 8am found the place in shambles, with files scattered all over.
The office is located on the second and third floors of a building on Jalan Yong Shook Lin. The ground floor shop, used as a mobile phone outlet, was not affected.
Fernandez, who has made a police report, said he believed it was a professional job. The intruders sprayed black paint at a closed circuit camera and used heavy-duty equipment to break the grille.
